I have had a great start to the wedding season and met some lovely couples; none more so than Verity and Jason whose wedding I recently shot at Newland Hall, Essex. The venue is just outside Chelmsford and has been a regional finalist in the Wedding Industry Awards for the last two years – and it’s not hard to see why! The 15th century tudor house serves as a wonderful centrepiece surrounded by beautiful grounds and gardens.
I had been looking forward to this wedding as it was the first opportunity I had to try a new camera (and lens) under wedding ‘conditions’. It’s hard to see from the small images below just how good the quality of the images are. I think it’s certainly fair to say that the camera did all that was asked of it and passed with flying colours.
The wedding had a very intimate feel to it and this was enhanced by the wonderful location and staff. After the ceremony I was able to take the newly weds on a short walk I had previously scouted for some shots of them together. The weather couldn’t really seem to make up it’s mind and we had something of all four seasons in one day! Luckily our timing was spot on as every time we went outside for some photos we were blessed with great conditions and good light!
My time at Newland Hall flew by so quickly. Verity and Jason were a great couple and absolutely lovely to work with – I think the fun and affection of the day really shines through in the images.
