Every once and a while the stars align to allow for a perfect day – Arriana & Chris’ Copdock Hall wedding was one such magical day.
It all seemed a long way away from the first time I met Arriana and Chris for a coffee and a chat about their plans for the big day. I was very honoured when they decided to place their trust in me and booked me to photograph their wedding. We met again on a rather cold January day at Copdock Hall to have a bit of a recce and go through things in some more detail. It was also great to be working with Sian from Busy Brides again and the guys at Blatella Films. Copdock itself is run by a lovely couple, Ian & Diane, who have lovingly renovated the barn over a three year period to the glorious state it is in now. Finished and opened in April 2015 it makes for a beautiful wedding venue with lots of space, countryside a 15th Century church a short stroll away and it’s very own vineyard (still working on sampling some of the produce!)
Arriana & Chris were both getting ready a short drive away from the venue. The bridal and groom preparation is one of my favourite parts of the day. It’s a time that witnesses the transformation via hair, make-up and finally the dress, of someone who started the day as engaged – to a beautiful bride. There’s also that nervous excitement and expectation of what is to come, a bit like the run up to a very special Christmas!
Despite a changeable forecast the sun came out for my first Copdock Hall wedding and it proved to be a glorious summer’s day. This allowed full use to be made of the bouncy castle and lawn games that had been laid on. Arriana & Chris were great to work for, very welcoming, and really made me feel part of the day. We were able to pop out at various times for some different types of shots including some sunset ones and even a dusk one in the vineyard!
It was a real pleasure to shoot this wedding at Copdock Hall.
Many congratulations guys and all the best for your future together.
