A few weeks ago I had the very real pleasure of photographing Sarah & Schuman’s wedding at Camden Town Hall & reception at The Amadeus, Little Venice. In fact there were a couple more venues involved including Gloss hair and beauty salon where the bride and bridesmaids were having their hair and make-up done. The staff there were fantastic about giving me free reign to shoot the bridal party and I did my very best not to get under their feet!
Meanwhile, my assistant had gone to the Renaissance Hotel, St Pancras to photograph the groom and his friends getting ready. Despite it being a weekend in central London, the traffic and parking at all the locations was totally painless and this really made for a smooth, stress free day from a photography perspective.
Having finished at the salon it was off off to slip into the wedding dress (Sarah; not me). Sarah’s Dad joined us at this point and it was nice to capture a few shots of them together before we were off to the ceremony.
Camden Town Hall has the wedding business off pat. They were very organised, the officiant was brilliant and I think we managed to use our allotted 5 minutes on the staircase wisely. Sarah & Schuman had organised an open top London Bus to take their guests from the ceremony to the reception via some sight seeing around the capital. This was a brilliant idea as it gave me some time with the Bride and Groom to get some shots of them around Little Venice, very closed to The Amadeus, the wedding reception venue.
We made it to the Amadeus ahead of the guests and the reception got off to a great start with a confetti line from the bus. The night shot by with excellent food, speeches & tunes. It was a fantastic venue to shot at with lots of fairy lights and interesting backdrops, we even managed to pop out for a twilight shot at the end of the evening.
It was a real blast guys – thanks for having me along!
